5. De’Aaron Fox is a Most Improved Player candidate

In his first professional season, De’Aaron Fox averaged 11.6 points, 4.4 assists, and 1.0 steals on a .478 true shooting percentage.

Although he didn’t earn a spot on either all-rookie team, Fox had a decent season nonetheless.

Now, with all the young talent in tact and him being the franchise’s point guard of the future, the Kings will look for Fox to make big strides in his sophomore season.

He had the second highest usage on the roster last season at 23.4 percent, and i’d imagine that number is only going to climb.

Guys are going to depend on him to create plays and initiate the offense, whether it be setting up easy looks for his young rookies Marvin Bagley and Harry Giles, or hitting shooters like Bogdan Bogdanovic and Buddy Hield for uncontested jumpers, his assist per game numbers are going to see an increase.

Dave Joerger’s new modern offensive plan should also benefit Fox immensely.

This new brand of basketball is ideal for De’Aaron Fox and the tempo in which he plays at. He’s going to do a lot of his damage in transition. He’ll get to the line more, convert more layups thus boosting his field goal percentage, and find shooters sprinting down court.

Not only will Fox lead his team in assists, but there’s also the possibility that he ends up leading the team in scoring as well. That is, if our next prediction doesn’t come true.
