Golden State Warriors: 5 predictions for the 2018-19 NBA season
2. They won’t win 60+ games
Similar to their fall from the top seed, the Warriors won 58 games last season, their first time falling below the 60 win threshold since 2014.
This Golden State squad has been known to struggle with motivation during the regular season after it began making NBA Finals trips a regular occurrence. After all, it’s hard to make every single one of the 82 games feel important, which leads to a good chunk of games turning into losses due to lack of focus.
Until the playoffs begin, the Dubs will struggle once again to give it their all on a consistent basis, and given how deep the West is with good to great teams gunning for their throats every night, it is likely to affect their win total in a negative way.
Due to the sheer volume of talent on the roster, the Warriors will get close to that 60 win threshold, but to exceed that number takes a certain commitment they won’t give for fear it could pose a threat in their quest for the ultimate goal.
