4. DeMarcus Cousins will fit right in

The NBA world will have to patiently wait for the return of DeMarcus Cousins from his Achilles injury, most likely until March. But when he does step onto the court, the big man will complete Golden State’s All-Star starting lineup, the likes of which has never been seen in the modern era.

Given the personality of Boogie coupled with his desire to earn a long-term big-money deal, there is some hesitancy in regards to his fit within Golden State’s unselfish offensive system. Due to the circumstances with which he was signed, though, Cousins will likely be on his best behavior.

Talent wise, he should fit perfectly. His low post game is something the Dubs haven’t ever experienced, and with the ability to handle the ball and dish it off, Kerr can get very creative with his offensive sets.

The tricky part involves Boogie’s temperament, something that’s come to affect him negatively over the years. He’ll also be playing for a new contract, but one has to remember it was he who called Golden State, not the other way around.

Cousins knew what he was signing up for when coming to the Bay. He knew he wouldn’t be the main focus or even one of the top three. He knows that in order to show the NBA world his value, he’ll simply have to play his role, whatever it may be.
