Washington Wizards: 3 bold predictions for 2018-19 NBA season

The new NBA season is less than a week away. Here’s a look at some bold predictions for the Washington Wizards in 2018-19.

The 2018-19 season is right around the corner. The Washington Wizards close out their preseason NBA schedule this Friday against the Guangzhou Long-Lions. So far, the Wizards have gone 3-1 in preseason play, only missing the presence of big man Dwight Howard in the starting rotation.

The team has managed to fill the void, though, with reserve big man Jason Smith. Smith has had a productive preseason, recording 11.0 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in four games off the bench. He’s shooting 51.7 percent from field goal range despite not being expected to do much entering regular season play.

Those who are expected to contribute during the regular season will need to do so at a high level or playing time could become scarce. Head coach Scott Brooks doesn’t go deeper than eight players in his rotation and given the amount of experience he has on the roster, some will need to do better than others to stand out from the group.

The season is on the horizon and the Wizards should have the top seed in the East on their mind, among other things. Here’s a look at three bold predictions for the Washington Wizards entering 2018-19.
