Golden State Warriors: 2018-19 NBA season preview

The Golden State Warriors head into the 2018-19 season with the chance to cement themselves among the all-time great teams in league history.

Despite coming off back-to-back NBA championships, a swirl of storylines surrounds the Golden State Warriors as they look to become the first team since the early 2000 Los Angeles Lakers to win three consecutive titles.

Probably the biggest news to come out of the Bay Area was the addition of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins, who, despite recovering from an Achilles tear, is still regarded as one of the best centers in the game when healthy.

Golden State also brought in stretch-forward Jonas Jerebko and re-signed Kevon Looney to provide depth up front. The depth chart is then rounded out by rookie Jacob Evans, who was taken with the 28th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.

Given just how much talent resides in the Bay, the Warriors are still the odds-on favorites to win the 2019 title, but this season brings along with it some new challenges.

Working a presence as big as Boogie Cousins into the fold will be a tough test, while the fatigue of the body and mind after four straight Finals runs is sure to take its toll on a team that struggled with motivation at times last season.
