Expectations are high for the 2018-19 Utah Jazz season. Let’s take a look at five reasons to be excited about the upcoming year.

After two successful seasons that ended in second round playoff exits, the Utah Jazz enter the 2018-19 NBA season with plenty to be excited about. With minimal turnover, the Jazz are coming into the season with nearly the same roster.

Due to the injury to center Rudy Gobert in November, things got off to a slow start in Salt Lake City in 2017. However, upon his return, the Defensive Player of the Year was instrumental in the Jazz finishing the season 29-6 and as one of the top defensive teams in the NBA.

The duo of Gobert and Derrick Favors proved to be successful last year, as they outscored opponents by 8.6 points per 100 possessions when they shared the court, per NBA.com. With Donovan Mitchell catching fire after the All-Star break, Royce O’Neale stepping up in the playoffs, and a healthy Dante Exum, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about the upcoming campaign.

Let’s take a look at five reasons Jazz fans should be looking forward to the 2018-19 season.
