After an offseason that was basically a dream come true, the Oklahoma City Thunder have a lot to be excited about going into the 2018-19 NBA season.

Simply put, the Oklahoma City Thunder accomplished everything they hoped to accomplish over the summer. They got rid of Carmelo Anthony‘s awful contract (which no one thought was possible) and re-signed superstar free agent Paul George to a long-term deal (which no one thought was probable). Oh, and along the way they solidified their bench and picked up the best second-string point guard in league. Not too shabby.

Things could have gone very differently for the Thunder. Had George abandoned ship to go to his home town Los Angeles, or had Anthony not been mercifully pawned off on the Atlanta Hawks, we could very well be looking at a whole different team right now — a team with Anthony locked in the starting five, guzzling up shots and no help for Russell Westbrook just like two years ago.

Instead, what we are looking at is a team that has, realistically, the talent to make a deep run in the postseason and possibly even challenge the Golden State Warriors. Of course, we are also dealing with a franchise that is infamous for squandering talent and opportunity at every turn. Will this be the year for Oklahoma City, or will it end in disaster like we’ve seen so many times before? One thing is for certain: it’s Russell Westbrook’s biggest season since the Kevin Durant trade.

Without further ado, let’s dive into the complete 2018-19 season preview for the Oklahoma City Thunder. It’s always an adventure with Westbrook’s team, so buckle up, get ready for a wild wide and above all, don’t look down.
