Cleveland Cavaliers: 2018-19 NBA season preview

Storyline 2: How good will Collin Sexton be?
The Cleveland Cavaliers felt confident when drafting Collin Sexton with the eighth overall selection in the 2018 NBA Draft. He is expected to become the future star point guard and potential face of the franchise.
In college, Sexton showed off his amazing athleticism. His ability to fly up and down the court set him apart from the rest of his peers. He has a knack for getting into the paint and finishing tough shots. He also has solid court vision and can find open shooters off his drive-and-kick plays.
The biggest upside to Sexton’s game is his defense. He has an intensity on the defensive end that matches that of the best defenders in the league. His unusually low defensive stance helps him explode laterally to stay in front of the opponents.
Sexton’s shooting ability is the largest concern. His jump shot looks slightly off when he releases the ball. However, he showed flashes in Summer League and preseason that would suggest he can knock down open looks.
The Cavaliers will make it the main point to develop Sexton as quickly as possible. Helping a prospect of this value will become a top priority as the season progresses. Veteran players such as George Hill and Channing Frye should be the ones to mentor Sexton through his rookie season.
