Cleveland Cavaliers: 2018-19 NBA season preview
By Tony Pesta
The 2018-19 NBA season will be a drastic change of pace for the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With the departure of Akron-born superstar, LeBron James, the Cleveland Cavaliers will now be facing a new challenge. The Cavaliers will no longer be competing for an NBA championship. Now, the goal is to focus on rebuilding the team in hopes of shaping a bright future.
Recovering from a loss as devastating as this is not an easy task. The hole in the roster where James used to be is enormous. Luckily, the Cavs are in a better position this time around than they were when James left in 2010.
Cleveland did a great job of preparing for this exact situation while the King was still here. They added a number of key pieces that will help speed up the process of rebooting the franchise. Furthermore, they held on to veteran players such as Kevin Love and J.R. Smith.
The 2018-19 season will be pivotal for the franchise. It’s important to get this rebuild off to a good start. Getting the young players initiated will be a major goal throughout the season.
In this preview, we will examine every roster change and three of the seasons’ main storylines before looking at the best- and worst-case outcomes for this team and making some final predictions.
