Rebuilding teams rarely have hope, but the 2018-19 version of the Atlanta Hawks may have a lot of it this season. Can they make an impact this season?

In Year 2 of the Atlanta Hawks rebuild, Travis Schlenk has progressed even further towards “Warriors East” for this organization. He didn’t shy away from overhauling a big portion of the roster again over the offseason and brought in a new coach on top of it all.

Gone are Dennis Schroder and Mike Muscala due to offseason trades. Alex Len was brought in to take Muscala’s minutes and arriving in place of Schroder is a smart, cavalier sharpshooter named Trae Young.

Young will be expected to lead this a young Hawks core, joining last year’s breakout player John Collins. Kevin Huerter and Omari Spellman were drafted in the first round as well, but won’t have the pressure to become immediate contributors unless Schlenk continues to tinker with the team’s roster.

So what should we expect from the new Hawks’ roster in 2018-19? New head coach Lloyd Pierce expects to push the ball even more and this roster looks to have more upside than last year’s version. With the retooled roster, here are three bold predictions for this season.
