3. The Mavericks aren’t as maddening as the Cowboys

Dallas’ NBA team may not be as good as its NFL team right now, but they aren’t as frustrating to watch or as aggravating to deal with from a fan’s perspective.

The Mavs will likely land somewhere between bad and mediocre this season, but at least they’re safely predictable.

Expectations are low for this harmless squad, which means Dallas fans won’t be too disappointed when the Mavs lose and pleasantly surprised when they win.

Compared to the Cowboys, whose annual “This is the year!” narrative is already stressing out those fans of America’s Team who fall for it every year and view every game as if the season is on the line.

The Mavericks have some promising young talent, one living legend making his last rounds, and some intriguing athletes who can make the highlight reel.

Dallas fans can kick back and have fun watching this group, without the anxiety of playoff predictions and without getting trolled by the entire Internet every Sunday.
