The new NBA season is right around the corner. Here’s a glimpse of the upcoming campaign with the Washington Wizards’ 2018-19 season preview.

The Washington Wizards had a busy offseason in preparation for the 2018-19 campaign. They traded away Marcin Gortat to the Los Angeles Clippers for Austin Rivers after five seasons with the club. Then, they welcomed big man Dwight Howard to the team in free agency. Howard will look to shake off a lot of naysayers with one of the best backcourts in the NBA.

It looks like make-or-break time for the Wizards in the Eastern Conference, although they’ll have their work cut out for them in making it a successful season. The Wizards have high hopes for this upcoming season after adding some veteran depth on the bench and adding youth to its roster. After finishing eighth in the East, they’ll be playing with a chip on their shoulder, especially after missing point guard John Wall for half the season.

The whole team is healthy this season and guys like Kelly Oubre Jr. and Otto Porter Jr. should be ready to break out. Playing time will be tough to distribute for head coach Scott Brooks with this group. Summer League showcased a number of young guys looking to find their way on this roster too.

In this year’s season preview, we’ll break down the Washington Wizards’ roster, three key storylines and the best- and worst-case scenarios for the upcoming campaign.
