Los Angeles Clippers: 3 bold predictions for 2018-19 NBA season

After missing out the postseason for the first time since 2011, here are three bold predictions for the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2018-19 season.

As currently constructed, the Los Angeles Clippers are essentially in a holding pattern for the 2018-19 season.

Over the past 12 months, the Clippers’ front office has gone about a gradual breakup of the team that made six consecutive playoff appearances, the most in franchise history. It all kicked off last summer, with All-Star point guard Chris Paul being traded and J.J. Redick leaving as a free agent. This culminated in the midseason trade of Blake Griffin and the recent free agency departure of center DeAndre Jordan.

As a result, it’s a distinctly different looking outfit to the one head coach Doc Rivers inherited in the summer of 2013. More importantly, the Clippers enter this season knowing that eight rotation players will be out of contract by the end of the season.

While this is welcome news from a Clippers’ salary cap perspective considering the crop of free agents available next summer, it also means that a cloud somewhat hovers over a number of players’ futures with the team beyond this season.

So with a degree of uncertainty surrounding their future movements, here are three bold predictions for the Clippers in 2018-19.
