The case for Ray Allen

Ray Ray is famous for unconscious shooting. Many consider him the best gunslinger in NBA history without argument. Fans best remember his uncanny ability to hit with defenders draped over him. Allen starred in countless highlight-reels over his career.

The numbers are fantastic. Ray nailed exactly 40 percent of his looks from deep over his career. Allen also demonstrated volume, averaging 2.3 knockdowns in his 19 years. Ray always found ways to produce, despite defenses designed to stop him.

Allen sank 3.4 treys in his best season volume-wise (2003-04). His highest trey percentage was 45.3 percent, during his 2010-11 campaign with the Boston Celtics. He’s the league’s all-time leader in 3s with 2,973.

It’s easy to see why Allen is a respected shooting great. His numbers are phenomenal from both a volume and efficiency standpoint. His ability to move without a ball is almost unmatched, and many opponents remember 3s splashed in their face.

Consider Ray, Steph and Klay to be the finalists.
