The case for Steph Curry

Steph’s shooting numbers best resemble a video game. Last season, Curry shot 42.3 percent beyond the arc, and netted a whopping 4.2 treys per game. He averaged 26.4 points per game and nearly hit the league’s coveted 50-40-90 mark again. The manner in which he accomplished this should frighten the league. The dude looked so calm — almost bored.

Curry’s best campaign came in Golden State’s magical 2015-16 season, where the squad finished 73-9. During that year, Steph averaged 5.1 triples per game, and netted 45.4 percent from downtown. He scored 30.1 points per game, and shattered the single-season 3-point record.

Curry nets a career 43.6 percent from deep. He’s also averaged a blistering 3.4 3-pointers per game over his nine seasons.

For analysts, Steph’s career is tough to throw shade at. He’s exceeded 41 percent from beyond the arc in every season. His overall field goal percentage has never dipped under 45 percent. Curry has averaged 23 points or higher in the past six seasons. There’s hardly a blemish to be found.
