With the new NBA season just around the corner, it’s not too early to get excited about prospects for this upcoming 2019 NBA Draft. Who should be of interest at each position?

For 2019 NBA Draft junkies and fans of tanking teams, the excitement of a new wave of college prospects can be just as captivating as the NBA season itself. Every year there are new surprises,  disappointments and the occasional unknown prospect at the start of the year that catapults up draft boards and makes his way into the lottery conversation.

This year’s draft appears to be a bit thinner on star talent and overall depth than in previous years, but it’s unfair to draw any conclusions before the season starts. Most noticeably, there is a lack of point guard talent. While plenty of teams projected to finish at the bottom of the standings already have young point guards on their roster, teams like the Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic and potentially Chicago Bulls may be impacted by this.

Everyone is already raving about Duke’s Big 3 and Nassir Little has won over the analytics-driven draft community, but there are plenty of other prospects in the lottery and mid-to-late first round who should demand attention. Some may even have the potential to leap into the top five by next July. So who are some of these intriguing prospects?
