10. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

Jayson Tatum will be an All-Star one day. There’s little doubt about that after the rookie year he just had. In his debut season with the Boston Celtics, the 20-year-old put up 13.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game.

Most draft analysts figured his ability to create offense for himself was NBA-ready, but the supposed biggest areas for concern — his 3-point shooting and his defense — were far more advanced than anyone expected. He shot 47.5 percent from the field, 43.4 percent from 3 and was a more than competent wing defender for the league’s stingiest D.

Tatum is destined for stardom and may take another leap toward it in 2018-19. So why is he ranked so low on this list? Because even in the weaker Eastern Conference, the Celtics can only yield so many All-Stars. Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward and Al Horford are all more likely candidates, and in a packed wing rotation including Jaylen Brown, Tatum’s All-Star debut may have to wait a year or two.
