Predictions

As previously stated, the Sacramento Kings aren’t making the playoffs this year. Good thing they have their first round pick, right???

This season should be considered a penance for the sins of front offices past. it will be ugly (not depths-of-The-Process ugly), but the team won’t win a lot of games. The Kings should be decently fun if Joerger embraces the youth movement fully, but they still won’t be good.

According to Basketball-Reference, the Sacramento Kings’ stats suggested that they should have won 23 games last year instead of 27, and that they just got a bit lucky on occasion. Considering the talent they added, I can’t condone putting them lower than last year’s expectation.

Yet in a conference where every other team improved while the Kings’ best player might be a rookie, I can’t really condone putting them any higher than last year’s actual record either. Let’s split the difference with a prediction of 25-57 when all is said and done.
