After an expectedly bland free agency, the young New York Knicks are ready for their 2018-19 campaign to begin with a few goals in mind.

To sum up the free agency period for the New York Knicks all we would have to say is they seem to have drafted well — a big surprise for the franchise — and that they did not spend too much money on contracts.

Kevin Knox had a tremendous NBA Summer League campaign, putting up the kind of performances that brought Knicks fans to their feet.

The team’s other rookie, Mitchell Robinson, has also guaranteed a place in the rotation after his tremendous performances during Summer League. Breaking the records for averaging the most blocks and offensive rebounds does seem to raise a few eyebrows.

On the more unfortunate side of events, the team’s big star, Kristaps Porzingis, is still out with a torn ACL injury and is expected to miss the first few months of the 2018-19 NBA season.

However, missing a superstar does not mean these New York Knicks are about to give up and wave the white flag for the entire season. They do have some very important goals to achieve — some short-term, and some long-term.
