Despite experiencing an offseason of inactivity, here are five reasons to be excited for the Miami Heat in the 2018-19 NBA season.

The reasoning behind the Miami Heat standing pat this season was essentially made over 12 months ago.

With the signing of James Johnson and Dion Waiters to four-year deals, which followed the contracts handed out the previous summer to Hassan Whiteside and Tyler Johnson, the Heat entered this offseason with their hands virtually tied as it pertained to make any substantive moves.

In all, the most notable transactions of the offseason were the eventual re-signing of franchise legend Dwyane Wade, and the re-signing of sharpshooter Wayne Ellington to a one-year extension.

However, despite their relative lack of inactivity over the summer, the promise shown last season by an emerging young core, plus the return to full health of some other key players, means not all is doom and gloom following a first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Philadelphia 76ers.
