2. Joerger’s funky lineup

The game is always evolving. Moving forwards, not backwards. Dave Joerger, however, is light years ahead of everyone else (or at least, that’s what he thought Monday night).

Joerger unrolled one of, if not the most bizarre NBA lineups seen in recent memory.

To start the second quarter, the Kings’ lineup consisted of Frank Mason III and Bagley in the backcourt, Skal Labissiere at the 3, and Giles and Willie Cauley-Stein in the frontcourt.

I’m still not sure what to make of that lineup. Did he want to completely dominate the Suns on the glass? Did he want every Kings shot attempt to come inside the paint? Was this just a tactic to intimidate Phoenix with a giant lineup?

Your guess is as good as any as to what his intentions were with those five guys on the court at once.
