1. Karl-Anthony Towns will make an All-NBA Team

KAT made the All-NBA Third Team last year, the first All-NBA selection of his career. With Butler out of the picture, he’s in prime position to make another All-NBA team in 2018-19, and maybe even bump himself up onto the All-NBA First or Second team.

As The Ringer’s Jonathan Tjarks wrote, Towns has the capacity to be the best offensive big man in the league, and he isn’t far off now despite the baffling way Thibs has used him.

Towns had just the fifth-highest usage rate on the Wolves last year, behind even Derrick Rose and Jamal Crawford. In the first round series against the Houston Rockets, Thibs stuck KAT in the corner on offense, later claiming:

Much to Thibodeau’s chagrin, Towns, and not Butler, will be the team’s 2018-19 centerpiece. Thibs probably won’t alter the offense to maximize Towns’ otherworldly offensive versatility, but KAT produced massive numbers last year in an unideal situation, so the sky is the limit for him as the team’s true No. 1 option.

Karl-Anthony Towns is the future in Minnesota, and he’ll only solidify that further by making another All-NBA Team this year.
