1. Championship aspirations

The Celtics have a lot of expectations ahead of the season. Now that LeBron James is out of the Eastern Conference, all eyes have turned to the Celtics, though the Philadelphia 76ers and Toronto Raptors might have a say in the matter.

However, until we see a full season from Kawhi Leonard and a healthy/developmental season from the Sixers; the Celtics are the team to beat in the East. Boston held the No. 1 seed in the East for the better part of the season last year.

Injuries caught up to them and that allowed the Raptors to swoop in and take sole possession of the East. Even with all the injuries, the Celtics were able to make it to Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals. It’s not an easy task to dethrone the King, who earned a trip to the NBA Finals for the eighth straight year.

The players in Boston are big believers that they are the team to beat in the East. Brown isn’t shying away from stating this either.

He’s not wrong; they do have a great chance at winning it all this year. But like he said, the Celtics can’t get too carried away and expect that they are going to win. They must work hard and make sure they don’t slip.

The NBA’s all-time winningest franchise could be adding another trophy to its resume. The Celtics have high hopes and a great chance at making it to the Finals. It’s up to them to put it all together with their new lineup. Either way, Boston should be feeling a lot of excitement rolling into the 2018-19 season.
