5. Scary Terry

It’s safe to say that a lot of Boston or even NBA fans have become fond of Terry Rozier, A.K.A. Scary Terry. That nickname was given to Rozier after a strong playoff run last season with the Celtics.

Rozier is entering his fourth season in the NBA and will still be the backup point guard. He was finally given the chance to start last season, but that was due to Irving being out with a knee injury. From what was seen last year, a starting gig looks to be in his future plans one day.

The former 16th overall pick from the 2015 NBA Draft is set to kick off another season of Scary Terry.

A nickname is just a nickname, but it surely gave fans a lot of excitement. There were several T-shirts made and Rozier seemed to really embrace it. That being said, his stats in the playoffs were pretty good too.

He averaged 16.5 points, 5.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game, which was a big improvement to his regular season averages of 11.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals per game.

Those stats are a little deceiving because he did get to start in 16 of those 80 games he participated in. The larger role played a factor in him improving his stat line, but in any case, he looked great when he was given the minutes.

Both the Celtics and Rozier have a big decision this upcoming season. Rozier is set to become a restricted free agent and the possibility of him wearing green by next season may be slim. This all plays a role in Irving’s decision and the possible money Rozier will demand.

For now, Celtics fans should enjoy another year of Scary Terry, because it is electrifying every time he steps onto the hardwood.
