The Atlanta Hawks are once again moving in the right direction. They’ve hired a fantastic new coach and have brought in some exciting young talent. Let’s take a look at some reasons for excitement in 2018-19.

So much change has come for the Atlanta Hawks in the past few months. From the departures and additions of players, to a brand new head coach, the team is a shell of what it was in the days of the playoff streak.

The 2018-19 NBA season brings an intriguing mix of talent. There are three first round rookies joining the squad who are each followed by their own hype train.

This roster beams with youth and upside. Even the worst-case scenarios for many of these players is not necessarily bad. For the first time in a few years, the Hawks have some players not named Dwight Howard to really be excited about. Trae Young has star potential, Kevin Huerter is a lethal shooter, and John Collins is as explosive an athlete we’ve seen since the days of Blake Griffin and Josh Smith.

With the preseason coming up, here are five reasons to be excited for the Atlanta’s 2018-19 season.
