1. Transition into a sixth man role
Players generally don’t end their careers in a starting lineup, which is why most of them develop into quality bench role players. It has worked over time for the likes of Vince Carter, Ray Allen, and many other great shooting guards.
Longevity is the key for Redick at this point of his NBA journey, and he may need to begin showing his value as a sixth man in order to keep himself moving forward.
The Sixers strongly believe in the rising stars that they currently hold in the backcourt, and their confidence has suddenly skyrocketed whenever mentioning Markelle Fultz.
The team knew when they drafted Fultz over a year ago that he would eventually become one of their cornerstones. Now that everything in his game appears to be well intact, Brett Brown could be mixing it up at the 2-spot in the lineup.
Redick’s overall usage likely won’t take a tumble as a result of this, but he may need to adjust to contributing off the bench.
He has been a starter in every game that he’s played in over the past four seasons.
