Memphis Grizzlies: 3 candidates for a breakout season in 2018-19
2. MarShon Brooks
MarShon Brooks came back to the NBA after playing a season in China for the Jiangsu Dragons. Even though he played just seven games for the Grizzlies last season he showed that he is capable of shouldering the scoring load if need be when called upon.
In just seven games, MarShon Brooks averaged 20.1 points, 3.6 assists, and 1.6 steals in 27.6 minutes per contest. Regarded as a journeyman throughout his career, Brooks looks to have found a home in Memphis.
The former Providence shooting guard looks to show the Grizzlies brass that he can be a consistent player. Brooks has all the tools to be a solid player and since securing a 10-day contract from the Memphis Grizzlies he was signed to a multi-year deal shortly thereafter.
His brightest moment came when he starred in the 4th quarter vs the Blazers.
Don’t be surprised if Brooks pushes his way into the starting lineup with how he plays off the bench.
The future looks bright for the veteran shooting guard should he bring his stellar play from last season with him.
