3. Dillon Brooks

It is always surprising when a player taken in the middle of the 2nd round shines early in the NBA. Thrust into a starting role after Chandler Parsons went back on the shelf, Dillon Brooks showed that he certainly has what it takes to carve a role out in the NBA

Highly skilled coming out of Oregon, Brooks is poised to become the Grizzlies next great dynamic scorer.

Drafted 45th overall in the 2nd round, Brooks wasn’t expected to have a large role in his rookie season. While having little to no expectations set on him, the rookie forward shined averaging 11.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 28.7 minutes per contest.

Perhaps his brightest moment came in a game versus the Oklahoma City Thunder in which he scored a career-high 36 points.

Even though Parsons is poised to come back healthier than last season and ex-Spur Kyle Anderson was signed, look for Brooks to shine once again for the Memphis Grizzlies.

By the end of his breakout season, Brooks should be one of the top rotation players in the league.
