How did Steph Curry and others perform individually in the Golden State Warriors’ loss to Minnesota? Let’s examine Saturday’s results.
The Warriors fell to Minnesota in a tale of two halves, dropping their first preseason game 114-110. Despite the loss, Golden State’s superstars played respectably, making their presence known on Kevin Durant’s birthday.
Offensively, Golden State confused fans. The Warriors netted 71 points in a strong first half, assisting on a spectacular 24-of-28 buckets (NBA). The flame flickered in the second half, as Golden State scored just 39 points.
The Warriors appeared sluggish defensively, something Steve Kerr will likely address in practice. They struggled early and often, surrendering 114 points (37 in the first quarter). Golden State also allowed a whopping 20 free-throws in the first half (NBA).
Individually, several standout performances occurred on Golden State’s end. Steph, KD and Klay each excelled to varying degrees. Several others impressed, including Jordan Bell (10 points, 7 rebounds), and Marcus Derrickson (10 points, 2-5 3-points field goals).
