Predictions

This will be another transitional season for Orlando, but hopefully one in which we begin to see the signs of an up and coming team in the near future.

Bamba has every chance of making an All-Rookie team, while Gordon could make a push for an All-Star berth if he leads from the front in a weaker Eastern Conference.

That will probably be about as good as it gets, although staying in the playoff hunt until after Christmas would be another positive as it is something they have failed to do for years now too.

It’s slightly concerning that Orlando was so inactive throughout the offseason, but you have to think that’s because the front office really believes they’re onto something with the players they’ve drafted and want to let them grow.

It still looks like the organization has a plan, and they’re in better shape than they have been in years. Beyond Mozgov and possibly Fournier, there isn’t crazy money being spent on players who don’t deserve it and there is flexibility to improve through trade or free agency in future.

That last piece of information is the best part about all of this, no matter what way the season goes. The Orlando Magic are no longer trapped, and have different ways to get to where they eventually want to be. With that fact assured, how bad could it get?
