Orlando Magic: 2018-19 NBA season preview
By Luke Duffy
The Orlando Magic weren’t a major player this offseason, but that doesn’t mean this coming year can’t be a positive one for the organization.
While the summer of 2018 will always be remembered as the time when LeBron James went “Showtime,” the Orlando Magic had a much quieter, but at the same time positive, offseason.
They continued to collect young talent, this time in the form of lottery pick Mohamed Bamba. Like Jonathan Isaac the previous year, the center with the longest wingspan in the league was taken with the sixth overall pick.
Orlando also saw yet another coaching change, with head coach Steve Clifford coming over from the Charlotte Hornets and replacing Frank Vogel after his uninspired two seasons in charge.
These were the main talking points of the offseason, as well as the news that forward Aaron Gordon was signed to a four year, $80 million extension.
There was more than went on than that however, so let’s take a look at some of the other roster additions and subtractions, while also examining the storylines for the Magic heading into the new season.
