7. Marc Gasol, Memphis Grizzlies

Marc Gasol will turn 34 midway through his 11th NBA season, and given his injury history, that has to be somewhat concerning despite how well his game has aged thus far. At some point, “Grit-N-Grind” will be more of a description of how he takes to the court rather than the Memphis Grizzlies‘ trademark mentality.

Last year, Big Spain posted 17.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.4 blocks per game — the kind of well-rounded but low-key numbers people have come to expect. It wasn’t a good year for the Grizz, but Gasol still canned 34.1 percent of his career-high 4.4 attempts per game from long range.

A healthy Mike Conley could reinvigorate this squad, as could the arrival of Gasol’s eventual successor, Jaren Jackson Jr. By the same token, further injuries to the Conley-Gasol duo, a potential JJJ breakout or another losing season could lead to further decline for the former Defensive Player of the Year.
