2. J.J. Redick, Philadelphia 76ers

Like a few players on this list, J.J. Redick is coming off a career year in his early 30s. He was absolutely dynamite for the Philadelphia 76ers last season, both in terms of his veteran leadership off the court and his career-high 17.1 points per game on 42 percent shooting from deep (while launching 6.6 times a night) on the court.

However, Redick’s career year at age 33 does not bode well for his age-34 season in terms of staving off regression of some sort. Spot-up shooters like Redick and Kyle Korver can remain effective well into their twilight years, but this might be the year he takes a slight step back.

The reason? Aside from his age, Redick should also be stepping into the background a bit more with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons seizing the spotlight. Floor-spacing will be as important as ever, but there’s also all the buzz around Markelle Fultz‘s improved jumper and a potential breakout season.

Redick should still keep his starting role, but if you’re buying into the Fultz hype (and we are), some semblance of regression should be coming for Redick as a No. 1 overall draft pick steps into the picture.
