After yet another optimistic Media Day for the Phoenix Suns, here are the three biggest takeaways heading into the 2018-19 NBA season.

Media Day is always the most optimistic day of the yearly NBA cycle, because all 30 teams have nothing but high hopes and positive vibes. Nobody’s lost a game yet, suffered an injury or been forced to look more realistic expectations in the eye. With that being said, there was plenty to take away from the Phoenix Suns‘ Media Day for the 2018-19 season.

The Suns finished with the worst record in the NBA last year, and we’ve seen more than a few energetic, optimistic Media Days precede miserable, disappointing seasons over the last couple years. However, after an active summer for general manager Ryan McDonough, there are quite a few new pieces to look forward to as well.

While the most welcome news of the day was Devin Booker getting the sutures out of his hand and aiming to be ready for opening night, there were a few recurring themes from Media Day that are worth taking a closer look at.

For a team with a new head coach, two top-10 rookie selections, two new veterans, a four-way battle for the starting point guard spot and a bunch of young players looking to take the next step, Media Day was not left wanting for storylines. Here are the three biggest takeaways from the unofficial start to the new season.
