2. The Phoenix Suns will win two of the six major awards

It may seem crazy, but it’s not out of the question for the Phoenix Suns to take two of the Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, Sixth Man of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year and Coach of the Year awards. No one on the team really has a good chance at winning DPOY, so that’s probably out of the question, but the rest are all distinct possibilities.

Depending on how well he plays, Devin Booker could win either MVP or MIP, though he’s probably too good already to win the latter. Josh Jackson could win MIP, though. Deandre Ayton, as the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, has the best pedigree and one of the best situations out of any prospect to win ROY.

T.J. Warren could rack up points off the bench in a Lou Williams-like reserve role and win 6MOY. If the Suns jump from 21 wins to the low-to-mid 40s and show serious stylistic improvement, Igor Kokoskov will be a prime contender for COY.

Hoops Habit has already broken down the best Phoenix Suns candidates for each award in a more detail, but it shouldn’t be a total surprise if the Suns win a few of the end-of-season awards this year.
