3. Scary Terry is back

Terry Rozier had a big season last year and a lot of that came from filling in for the injured Irving. In the time he filled in for Irving as a starter, Rozier averaged 15.6 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

Those numbers suggest an already starting point guard or a potential starter soon. Rozier may never admit that he minds being the backup to Irving, but he’s definitely worth a look as a future starter.

One of the biggest storylines for Rozier last season was his playoff run. In the playoffs, he averaged 16.5 points, 5.7 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. When the lights were at their brightest, he stepped up in a major way.

He was a big reason the Celtics were able to make a run to the Eastern Conference Finals when their star players went down. In the playoffs, he earned the nickname “Scary Terry.” It looks like that name will continue on for the 2018-19 season.

If the Celtics can get the same Rozier as they did last year, then he will be a major addition off the bench, or as a starter if need be. Rozier will be a restricted free agent this upcoming offseason.

The 24-year-old guard has a lot of room for improvement. If he gets the playing time, his improvement shouldn’t be out of the question. Whether the Celtics choose to re-sign or match any offer will be known once free agency rolls around this summer, and will largely depend on Irving’s free agency. For now though, let’s all enjoy another year of Scary Terry.
