The Boston Celtics hosted their Media Day for the 2018-19 NBA season on Monday. Here are three takeaways from a day full of excitement.

The Boston Celtics‘ 2018-19 season will be starting up shortly, much like every other NBA team. Monday was Media Day for the Celtics and the majority of the NBA. There was a lot of valuable information relayed throughout the fun-filled day.

The Celtics finished last season a game short of the NBA Finals, which was surely impressive when you look back upon how the season went for Boston. They faced a lot of adversity while dealing with a lot of injuries.

There’s an argument to be said that this team faced the most injuries in the league. Not one player was able to play in all 82 games. Though Aron Baynes, Terry Rozier and Jayson Tatum did play in 80-81 games. Getting a healthy Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving back in the lineup will represent major additions to the team.

The Celtics are hoping for a different outcome this year — one that ends with them holding the Larry O’Brien trophy. That’s not a goal that’s out of reach, but when looking at the Western Conference and the Golden State Warriors, it won’t be easy.

Boston should have more chances when its young core of players is developed more and has greater experience, but with Irving and Terry Rozier approaching free agency this summer, the 2018-19 season takes on even more importance.

Whether they are champions of the NBA or the Eastern Conference, the Celtics have a big season on their hands. With the 2018-19 campaign right around the corner, here are the three main takeaways from the team’s Media Day.
