The Chicago Bulls have been very active during the offseason. Will these changes be enough to contend for a playoff berth?

The Chicago Bulls were a playoff team in each of the seven years prior to hiring Fred Hoiberg. Since Hoiberg arrived in the Windy City however, it’s been a mixed bag, to say the least.

In Hoiberg’s first season, Chicago finished two games above .500 (42-40), but failed to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2007-08 campaign. Despite finishing with a 41-41 record in Year 2 under Hoiberg, the Bulls nabbed the eighth spot in the conference and pushed the top-seeded Boston Celtics to six games in the first round of the playoffs.

Last season, the first year of the team’s rebuild, the Bulls managed to produce just 27 victories, their lowest win total since 2003-04. On the heels of an active offseason, the Bulls are hoping to become playoff contenders once again.

With that being said, here’s a look at three reasons why Chicago will be in contention for a playoff berth in 2018-19.
