1. The “we have a superstar” mentality

Here’s a message to all the “Porzingers” out there. Kristaps looks like one of the most entertaining players in the league and the fact that he is only 23 should make NY fans really happy about what’s next to come.

The thing is, he is not the definition of a superstar. He probably will be once he enters his prime in a couple of years. But the truth is, very few players have led their team into the playoffs at such a young age.

Adding a superstar next to — what’s most likely about to become — a superstar would speed up the process and help Porzingis take the next big step in his career.  All jokes aside regarding the organization’s inability to perform at a high level, adding Jimmy Butler next to Kristaps Porzingis pretty much opens up a playoff spot for you.

The Knicks are already enjoying the perks of being a big-market team. Most players would love to play in NY, as we’ve seen many times in the past. Additionally, by creating enough cap space for the upcoming free agency, you pretty much guarantee that a wide variety of players could push for a meeting with the team to discuss a deal.

To top it all off, you have a clear superstar. A player that would form a dynamic duo with the modern-day Dirk Nowitzki, as the comparisons with the German legend are never absent next to Porzingis’ name. Talk about an appealing free agency destination.

Dear Knicks, I wrote you but you still ain’t calling,

Truly yours, your biggest fan, this is the free agency class.
