New York Knicks: 3 reasons to trade for Jimmy Butler
It has just been confirmed that Jimmy Butler would like to be traded to the New York Knicks. Here are three reasons why NY should trade for him.
It appears that the Minnesota Timberwolves’ last-effort meeting with superstar Jimmy Butler did not go according to plan. Butler has requested a trade away from the team and it appears that the New York Knicks are a desirable destination for the four-time All-Star.
The four-time All-Star listed the Los Angeles Clippers, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks as the three teams he would like to be traded to, effective immediately.
Jimmy Buckets was traded to the Timberwolves last summer, with high hopes of creating the next big super-team in the stacked Western Conference. What followed was an eighth seed playoff berth and a first round exit in the 2018 NBA Playoffs.
As a result, and because the team would not renegotiate his contract this summer, Butler has grown frustrated and is looking for a long-term move. All three of these teams will have max cap space in the summer of 2019, meaning that they will be able to sign Jimmy Butler to a max deal.
The New York Knicks could look to add Butler to the squad, who would be a terrific mentor for rookie Kevin Knox. Here are three reasons why the New York Knicks should prioritize trading for Jimmy Butler right away.
