The New York Knicks are reportedly shopping Courtney Lee despite him not asking for a trade. Here are four potential landing spots for Lee should he be traded.

Coming into the 2018 NBA offseason, the New York Knicks had some clear goals. They wanted to clean up their future salary cap and continue adding more young pieces to the puzzle. They accomplished both.

The Knicks did not add any salary beyond the 2018-19 season. Everyone they signed was on a one-year deal, including Mario Hezonja and Noah Vonleh. New York is hoping the former lottery picks can find their footing with a change of scenery and opportunity.

The Knicks should have plenty of minutes available this season. New head coach David Fizdale pretty much guaranteed a change would be coming to the lineup. With Kristaps Porzingis’ recovering from an ACL tear and his return in question, this will be a season about development and evaluation.

New York has plenty of young players that could become a part of their young core. However, there are still some veterans that could be moved to clear up some minutes. One of those players is Courtney Lee.

Lee is a great veteran to have around a young team. He is a consummate professional, which he showed last season when he accepted a lesser role when the Knicks wanted to give younger players more minutes. However, he does not fit their timeline.

As a result, the Knicks have shopped him around to see what they could get for him, according to Marc Berman of the NY Post. For what it is worth, Lee has not expressed a desire to be traded. He is happy in New York and ready for training camp next week.

While Lee is happy in New York, he should probably have his bags packed and ready to go. There are a number of contending teams that could use his skill-set on their roster. Under contract through 2020, and on a reasonable deal, the Knicks should get some value for Lee.

Here are four potential landing spots for Courtney Lee if the Knicks are indeed intent on moving him prior to the regular season.
