2. Zach Randolph

The acquisition of Zach Randolph by the Kings was a puzzling move back in the summer of 2017.

Sacramento was supposed to be committing to a rebuild, and while it’s always important to have a veteran presence like Z-Bo in the locker room, it’s less smart to give him $24 million over two years and then play him 25.6 minutes a night.

The newly drafted Marvin Bagley III needs the opportunity to develop, and while Randolph could certainly impart some wisdom as a 17-year pro, it’d be best for the rookie to learn by trial and error, something that will be hard to do with someone taking potential minutes away from him.

With only one year left on his contract, the Kings could simply wait it out and hand the starting spot to Bagley, but they should at least attempt to get any sort of return for a player who likely won’t be back with the team next season.
