3. Kevin Knox is the Rookie of the Year

The New York Knicks haven’t had much luck at winning the Rookie of the Year award in their history. It has already been 30 years since the last time a member of the New York Knicks won the aforementioned award.

Mark Jackson won it in 1988 after a remarkable season with the Knicks. The Knicks traditionally do not tend to draft well, as their rookies often struggle in the opening years of their respective careers. In fact, Kristaps Porzingis appears to be the only exception they’ve had in a while.

Kevin Knox did have an outstanding Summer League campaign though. He averaged 21.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. In fact, during the annual rookie survey, other rookies ranked him really high when it comes to the favorites for the award.

Additionally, many rookies think that Knox will turn out to have the best career among all of them.

Bringing home the award shouldn’t surprise anyone as Knox seems to be ready for the start of the season, hungry for every opportunity he can seize.
