5. A full season of Blake Griffin

Last season, after Blake Griffin joined the team, the offense was completely different. Prior to him, the offense was initiated exclusively through the point guard position. After he joined, he led the team in assists per game. It’s rare for a player to be able to pass out one of the frontcourt spots, but Griffin does it well. More wrinkles in an offense means you’re able to be more creative.

Prior to the Griffin trade, Tobias Harris was the team’s starting power forward. While he played well last year, his ceiling is not the same as the five-time All-Star Griffin. Griffin has more finesse to his game, which will take some heat off of Reggie Jackson and center Andre Drummond. He has the ability to spread the floor due to his passing, which is something that Harris was unable to do. It’ll be interesting to see how head coach Dwane Casey uses him.

Griffin is the most talented power forward that Casey has had at his disposal. He will make his job much easier because it allows him to determine how to use Jackson and the rest of the guards that can play the point. Flexible lineups are used by all teams, and the more flexibility a team has, the better. This team can unlock another gear on offense with Griffin in the lineup, and it will be exciting to see them do that.
