The Los Angeles Clippers are nowhere near being a terrible team, but a powerhouse Western Conference proves a difficult task to overcome every year.

The future of the Los Angeles Clippers is never a completely clear topic to talk about. The team is seemingly stuck in between mediocrity and playoff contention with no clear answer as to when or if that will change anytime soon.

Recently drafted rookies Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson have yet to make an NBA appearance but are projected to become solid pieces to build around for the future. Lou Williams, although now finally at the peak of his career, is 31 years old and isn’t getting any younger. Tobias Harris declined his $80 million extension in the hopes of earning a max contract this season. However, with the recent Kawhi Leonard rumors and speculation, Harris likely wouldn’t take priority over a Leonard signing.

While the future is unclear, the present still remains fairly predictable. Much like last season, the Los Angeles Clippers likely aren’t going to reach the postseason in 2019. Here are three reasons why.
