The Orlando Magic are going to need more than their young core to hit the ground running next season. Here are three goals for swingman Terrence Ross.

With all of the excitement around the young players on the Orlando Magic roster heading into this season, it is easy to forget about the other players also on the team. More specifically the veterans.

Aaron Gordon, Jonathan Isaac and Mohamed Bamba may be the core that has been put in place for the time being, but the Magic are going to need much more than their young enthusiasm, and the plenty of mistakes that will come with it, to be more competitive.

Players like Nikola Vucevic and Evan Fournier come to mind here when trying to decide which other players can step up. Vucevic is a double-double machine, but it is now about putting up the numbers we know that he can while also helping Orlando to win games.

For Fournier, he is capable of giving more, especially offensively. One individual who isn’t getting spoken about nearly enough though is Terrence Ross.

After all, it wasn’t so long ago that he was being thought of as the kind of player who could help to modernize a stagnant offense and be a good presence in the locker room.

Injuries curtailed his involvement last year (Ross appeared in only 24 games because of injury), but when he’s healthy there’s a lot to like about what he can bring to Orlando on a nightly basis.

Here are three goals for Ross for the upcoming season, although depending on future roster moves they could change. This only illustrates the flexibility he brings, a positive that cannot be underestimated.
