The New York Knicks need to make some moves if they want to have enough cap space in 2019 for a max free agent. Here are three of the likeliest Knicks to be traded in the 2018-19 season.

The New York Knicks are coming into the 2018-19 season with tepid expectations. With their best player, Kristaps Porzingis, rehabbing from a torn ACL with no concrete return date set, losses could pile up quickly.

At this stage of the rebuild, losing games wouldn’t be the worst thing for New York. David Fizdale will try and win games in his first season in the Big Apple, but they could be difficult to come by.

New York has some veterans that will help them win some games. However, without their superstar, sustained success will be tough to come by. With how things are trending, by the All-Star break, New York’s mindset could transition to getting minutes for the young guys.

There is an intriguing group of young players being put together in New York. Kevin Knox and Mitchell Robinson were the newest additions via the 2018 NBA Draft. Mario Hezjona and Noah Vonleh were signed in free agency as reclamation projects.

Will Frank Ntilikina continue showing the strides he showcased at the Las Vegas Summer League? Is Ntilikina going to still get worked in as a point guard, or will Trey Burke and Emmanuel Mudiay be battling it out there?

While fans would love to see the young guys get minutes, there are some veterans that will receive minutes and teach the youngsters the ropes. Once the organization is ready to hand the reigns over to those young players, we could see some player movement with the veterans.

Which veterans could be on the move? While the Knicks would love to trade Joakim Noah, the likelihood of that happening is slim to none. If there were takers for Noah, he would have already been moved.

For that reason, he is not on this list. Here are three Knicks that are most likely to be traded during the 2018-19 season.
