1. Chandler Parsons

It’s very likely the Grizzlies were looking to trade Chandler Parsons the moment they signed him, as four years and $94 million is a laughable amount of money to give a guy that’s proven very injury prone over the last four seasons.

Needless to say, Parsons hasn’t lived up to expectations in Memphis, averaging just 7.1 points on 40.1 percent shooting from the field. Given his contract situation coupled with the 94 games he’s missed in two years, it’s easy to see why the Grizzlies want to rid themselves of this albatross.

With two years and $49 million left on his deal, shipping Parsons out of town could take a possible sweetener to get teams to bite, but there are always organizations looking to take on extra salary in exchange for assets, and if the Grizzlies are that desperate they probably know what they have to do.

Currently sitting at nearly $125 million in guaranteed salary for this upcoming season and roughly $113 the next, it would make sense for Memphis to shed the remaining money on Parsons contract in order to avoid potential luxury tax payments.

It might take some assets they may not be so happy to part with, but if the Grizzlies truly want that money off the books, Parsons will likely have a new home sometime around the February trade deadline.
