As a team desperately clinging to the past, the Memphis Grizzlies would be better off throwing a fire sale next season to jump-start a rebuild.
Despite coming off their worst season in a long time, the Memphis Grizzlies still believe they’re a force to be reckoned with in the Western Conference playoff picture.
Led by Marc Gasol and a hopefully healthy Mike Conley, this team believes 2018 was a fluke, and that they can return to their winning ways with their signature blend of grit-‘n’-grind.
While they should certainly improve from their 22-win season, Memphis simply doesn’t have the talent to realistically compete for even just a postseason spot in its own conference.
Already with a solid building block in Jarren Jackson Jr., the Grizzlies should look to make some trades over the course of the upcoming season, gaining valuable assets and beginning a rebuilding process that really makes to much sense for them right now.
