3. Become a better playmaker

During his lone season at Duke, Parker posted averages of 19.1 points and 8.7 rebounds per game on slash lines of .473/.358/.743. On the heels of that impressive season, it was no surprise why the Milwaukee Bucks were willing to take him with the second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.

When Parker is healthy, he is a capable scorer and a decent rebounder. One of the shortcomings about his game, however, has to do with the fact that he isn’t a great facilitator and this dates back to his lone season with the Blue Devils.

That year, he averaged just 1.2 assists per outing and unfortunately, that trend has followed him to the NBA as well. In fact, Parker has failed to average two assists per game in three of the four seasons he’s been in the league.

To be fair, Parker played at the 4 spot during his time with the Bucks, meaning the ability to be an outstanding playmaker wasn’t necessarily a requirement. That will be different next season as he will occupying the small forward position.

The good news is Parker did average 2.8 dimes per contest during the 2016-17 season, so he does have the ability to make plays for this teammates.

Taking into consideration that he’s averaged two assists per game during his career, increasing that number to 3.0-3.5 per game would be a welcomed surprise.
